Happy Saturday, Smoky Mountain Lovers!

If I didn't know better, my guess would be that a refreshing long weekend like Memorial Day, or maybe a heart-of-the-summer 4th of July getaway, or possibly Christmas in the Smoky Mountains (don't forget to watch Dolly Parton's own "A Smoky Mountain Christmas" movie  this year!) would be the week we see the most visitors, here in the Smokies. Tisn't, though; none of them. I always thought of Thanksgiving as the homey, turkey-at-Grandma's-house sort of holiday. Well, it turns out "Grandma's house" is a concept, not a location. Those extended families, whose big visit happens each year at Thanksgiving, gather from across the country right here, for the perfect family Thanksgiving, giving that 4th week of November the coveted top spot. What does the perfect family Thanksgiving entail, you might ask? I shall tell you, below the photo.
Cook Turkey here, The Gatlinburg Lodge at SmokyMountainViews.com
First you'll need a cabin; a big cabin. It needs an open floor plan, with a great room that includes kitchen, dining room, and living room, so those cooking the feast don't miss any of the fun. Next, the kitchen needs to be spacious and well-equipped; you'll need a roaster pan, a turkey platter, no end of serving dishes and utensils, lots  of plates and cups, etc, and extensive counter space. If you were to find one like the kitchen pictured above, you would snap it up quickly -- it's ideal. And lastly, you need a game room to end all game rooms; preferably one featuring a jukebox, so the kids/kids-at-heart can be as loud as they'd like, downstairs.
Why does this all sound so familiar? Because The Gatlinburg Lodge at SmokyMountainViews.com is the perfect Thanksgiving cabin: beds for up to 28, tons of square footage, thoroughly-equipped kitchen, spectacular game room... check out more of the cabin's amenities here . And by the way, yes, that's its kitchen.
