Happy Thursday, Smoky Mountain Lovers!

We're hearing questions, both from people who have already booked their vacations and from people who are considering a visit out to the Smokies: Should I not even bother coming now, because of the government shutdown? The answer is not at all! You know there are a ton of exciting things to do out here, besides visit the national park, but I'm going to remind you of just some of those activities, below the picture.

Fall colors are coming into full force -- don't miss it! Don't forget, it is true that you can't hike the park right now, so that makes it doubly important that your cabin offer a view of the park, like this:

You drive into town Friday afternoon, stopping at the grocery store a few minutes before your cabin (no visit to our office necessary, since key entry is electronic), and then arrive at your cabin with a spaghetti dinner and some snacks and sweets for the evening. You'll stay at the cabin Friday evening, exploring the game room, hot tub, fireplaces, and most of all the stunning view of the Smoky Mountains.
Saturday morning, a pancake house in downtown Gatlinburg for breakfast, and then some walking to enjoy the gorgeous decorations and the fun fall atmosphere. Into Pigeon Forge for lunch and shopping at Tanger Outlet Mall, where Columbus Day sales are in full force. Around now everyone is starting to talk about the game room and the hot tub, so back to the cabin for a pizza dinner it is.
Sunday morning, after breakfast, it's time for Dollywood amusement park. Themorning has flown by, and it's time for lunch at Red's Diner, after which you try to explore the rest of the always-growing park. Dinner will be exciting, because you called up Dixie Stampede, and you have reservations for dinner and a show coming up in town.
Monday, you'll stay a little longer than you meant to, before beginning the drive home.Ziplines, Helicopter Tours , Wonderworks, the Titanic Museum, Ripley's Aquarium, or maybe an afternoon comedy show round out an action-packed vacation.

Yup, there's still plenty to do here. See you soon!
